The Kenntnisprüfung (KP) is the final gate to full Registered Nurse status in Germany. It tests that your nursing knowledge and practice meet German standards.

Where it fits

  • B1 pathway: contract in ~3 weeks → B2 training in Germany (~4 months) → KP prep.
  • B2 pathway: contract while in India (~45 days) → practical assessment on arrival → direct KP prep.

Preparing for it

Structured KP preparation typically runs about 45–50 days. It's focused, practical, and done while you're already living and earning in Germany during the recognition phase.

Pass the KP and you reach full RN status and salary — with a clear route to permanent residency and family reunification after.
